The purpose of this handbook is to provide essential information about our school’s
vision and policies. Kindly read thoroughly the information with your child to ensure a
smooth and fresh start to the year.

Our Vision

CPIS strives to prepare all students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens ready to meet the challenges of the future. In partnership with families and community, our goal is to create relevant learning opportunities for students both inside and outside the classroom that help them develop the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and character necessary to succeed in a technologically advanced world.

School Day:

Our school hours are from 7:30 am to 2:30 p.m. Gates will open at 7:30 a.m. for students. Students will not be allowed to enter school grounds before 7:30 a.m. as there will be no supervision available. In the afternoon, gates will open for parents collecting their children at 2:30 p.m. Students using the bus service will depart from school no later than 2:45 p.m.

Student Supervision :

School supervision ends at 2:50 PM. Students must be picked up by authorized adults no later than this time. Any student remaining on school premises after 2:50 p.m. will be escorted to the security office for parental pick-up.

School Gate Policy:

The school gate will remain open until 8:00 a.m. The school gates will be closed
completely at 8:15 a.m. and students will not be allowed to attend school. Students
arriving after 8:00 a.m. will be considered tardy and subject to the following consequences:
● 1st Offense: Verbal warning and notification to parents.
● 2nd Offense: A written warning will be sent to the parents.
● 3rd Offense: Students will not be allowed to attend the 1st session.
● Subsequent Offenses: Students will not attend school on that day.
If an emergency arises that may cause a student to be tardy, parents must contact the
stage admin immediately to request an exception for late arrival.

Attendance Policy :

Excused Absences:
Absences may be excused under the following circumstances:
● Student illness (medical documents should be presented through our official
communication channel)
● Visa appointments (documents should be presented through our official
communication channel)
● Family emergencies
● National sports competition. ( documents should be presented through our official
communication channel)

Unexcused absence:
An unexcused absence occurs when a student misses school for reasons that are not
accepted. These include but are not limited to:
● Holiday travel during scheduled school days.
● Missing the bus.
● Non-recorded illness
● Staying home
● Tardiness
In case of unexcused absence a zero credit will be given for attendance, class work, and
quizzes. Students will be responsible for making up for lessons missed.
The school will be taking action against students who miss school with no excuse in
reference to the Ministry of Education Absence policy.

Dress Code :

All Continental Palace International Schools students are expected to be properly groomed
for school and to wear the school uniform daily unless otherwise announced by the
Administration.
Appropriate shoes are required (black -White Shoes ).
For physical education, students are required to wear the PE uniform.

Hair Length and General Grooming:
● Boys: Hair must be neatly trimmed and maintained at a moderate length. Extreme
hairstyles, such as long hair or unusual cuts, are not permitted. dyed hair is not
allowed.
● Girls: Hair should be kept neat and tied. Unconventional hairstyles, including
dreadlocks (Rasta) and dyed hair, are not allowed.
● Body modifications ( tattoos, multiple earrings, nose piercings, jewelry, accessories,
makeup, etc..)are strictly prohibited.
● Fingernails should be neatly clipped without nail polish.
● Hard gel and acrylic nails are not permitted for the Girls.

The following consequences will be implemented for repeated dress code violations:
● 1st Offense: Verbal warning and notification to parents.
● 2nd Offense: Written warning, and notification to the parents.
● 3rd Offense: In-school detention and parents will be asked to meet the discipline
team to ensure that no further violations will be done.
● 4th Offense: Students will not be allowed in.

Discipline Policy:

Continental Palace International School staff, students, and parents work in partnership to
create a positive educational environment based on trust, responsible decision-making, and
self-discipline. Therefore, interventions and consequences will be rational and consistent
depending on the behavior, its seriousness, and its frequency.

Bus Rules :

● Board and leave the bus at the regular stop location
● Arrive at the bus stop at least 3 minutes prior to the bus stop time. The bus will not wait
for those who are tardy.
● Stand off the roadway while waiting for the bus.
● Do not cross behind the bus for your safety.
● Wait for the matron before crossing the road, boarding and disembarking the bus.
● Remain seated at all times when the bus is moving.
● Keep arms and head inside windows.
● Do not throw objects from windows.
Any violation of these rules will result in a verbal warning, then a written warning
and informing parents, and suspension for a period of time according to the
violation that might extend from a one-week suspension to a whole Term.
Request to Ride an Unassigned Bus Transportation system is not designed to
permit students to go on different buses. No exchange of buses is allowed.
